May Day Magic

MAY DAY MAGIC
Morris men with bells a ringing, may pole ribbons twirling brightly, all dance and weave around the “may”, gaily we sing and welcome in the summer as magic fills the air.

Maypoles were once a common sight all over England. People would practice skipping and dancing around the May Pole decorated with bright flowers of every hue for weeks before the May Day fair. To ensure the end results would be a beautiful plaited pattern around the May Pole. Traditionally dancing around the maypole and entwining different coloured ribbons around the “may” is an ancient English tradition, to signify the end of winter and beginning of summer. Many people celebrate with customs to attract love, good luck and fertility into their lives.

May Day is also celebrated as an important day in the Celtic calendar known as Beltane. Beltane meaning “bright fire” refers to the sunny days ahead and signifies growth and renewal. The wearing of garlands of hawthorn blossoms can often be seen worn by the may queen, again a symbol of purity, beauty and love. The Hawthorn with its sweet scented blooms is regarded as a magical plant and is seen as bringing good luck into the home on May Day eve. Beltane is one of the four Celtic fire festivals marking the quarter points in the year. Feasts were held and bonfires were lit throughout the countryside. Fire was believed to have purifying qualities as it cleansed and rejuvenated both the land and the people.

The ritual welcoming of the sun and the lighting of the fires was also believed to ensure fertility of the land and the people. Animals were transferred from winter pens to summer pastures, and were driven between the Beltane fires to cleanse them of evil spirits and to bring fertility and a good milk yield. The Celts leapt over Beltane fires for fertility and purification.

Young men would circle the Beltane fires holding Rowan branches to bring protection against evil as its bright red berries were considered particularly powerful attractors of good luck and success.
Beltane is also a time of love and romance; couples proclaim their love for each other on this day.
The maypole often crafted from the Birch tree is a phallic symbol, planted deep in the earth representing strength and unity, its unwinding coloured ribbons symbolizing the never-ending spiral of life and the union of male and female, the Goddess and God. It is usually topped by a ring of flowers to represent the fertile Goddess.

Catering manager Mrs Kinge, who is married with three sons and lives near Aldershot, said she discovered her special talents at the age of 19.

She claims she can pick up "energies" through psychometry - holding on to someone's jewellery and describing what she feels.

Mrs Kinge said she only senses good things and would not practise the technique if it uncovered bad omens.

Describing the moment she knew her luck was in, she said: "Out of the blue one day I just said 'let's start a lottery syndicate because I've just got a really strong feeling we are going to win a big win at the end of the year'.

"It was so strong I could feel it in my bones.

WINTER SOLSTICE GOOD LUCK SPELL –BY ANGEL WISHING MOON

Full moon falls on the Winter Solstice this year, making this a truly magical and an extra special and most powerful time to invite all good things into your life. Cast your spell upon the Wishing Moon and ensure that good luck follows you throughout the coming New Year.
You will need:
1 White candle
1 Red ribbon
1 White ribbon
1 Green ribbon

Create a sacred space.
Cover a small side table (with a cloth or scarf that you will keep especially for magical purposes), in a corner of the room where you know it will not be disturbed, this is your magical place so keep it secret away from by prying eyes!
Decorate it in a way that feels cheerful, warm, and bright. Holly, Mistletoe, Acorns all add a festive feel so chose items that bring you pleasure. Take your white candle and inscribe into it the words “WISH GRANTED”. Place the white candle in the centre, in front of the candle place three ribbons, one red, one white and one green.
At noon on the Winter Solstice Day 21st December 2010, light the white candle and say a few words about bringing the light and good luck forth in your life and also into the lives of your family and loved ones in the coming year.
Take hold of the three ribbons; say “Lord and Lady my spell has begun”, tie a knot to join all three together say:
I join yea three good luck come to me
Second knot say:
By the count of two, prosperity is due
Third knot say:
By the count of three, I am no longer in need
Fourth knot say:
By the count of four, abundance and more
Fifth knot say:
By the count of five, this spell grows stronger

Hark the Herald Angels!

With Christmas just around the corner we thought it would be a lovely chance to focus on Christmas angels. Many of us associate angels with Christmas and they are often featured on cards and decorations but do we know why?

Firstly it was the angels who brought forth the news that the baby Jesus Christ was to be born. It was the angel Gabriel who visited Mary and told her of her soon to be born son. Another angel was sent to Joseph to ensure he looked after Mary and the child, whilst a group of angels were sent to watch over Mary and Joseph as they made their tiring journey to Bethlehem.

As the angels watched over the birth they were filled with joy and mirth and broke into song which filled the heavens and was heard all over the Earth.

As you know in times of need I see no harm at all in incorporating a little bit of “practical magic” into our daily lives. “An it harm none” magical workings for the betterment of our higher selves or to aid our loved ones and those we care about most, will always be answered by our spiritual guides and guardian Angels.

THE POWER OF NINE FAST MONEY SPELL

Autumn money pot:

Carry out this incantation on the 9th day of the month.

You will need: 1 jam jar, 9 bay leaves, 1 lemon and 1 lime, 9 five pence pieces. Fill the sink with warm water, cut the lemon and the lime into 9 equal parts and add to the water along with the 9 five pence’s.

Add one bay leaf at a time and as you add each one stir the water nine times clockwise, say “Angel of Abundance hear my plea I ask not in greed only in need”, ask for what you want. Immerse the (clean) jam jar in the water leave it to soak for nine minutes.

Remove the jam jar, bay leaves and five pence’s from the water and leave on the window ledge to dry for nine hours. Put the lemons and limes in your fridge to act as fresheners, let the water drain away.

Once dry add the bay leaves and the five pence’s to the jam jar as you screw on the top say “Angel of Abundance I know that you are near, thank you for your bounty to last throughout the year”. Keep the money pot in your kitchen (the heart of the home) and give it a shake from time to time to keep the money flowing in.

Spell To attract New Friends or a Partner

Please remember that it is NOT a good idea to seek to tie an individual to yourself or another person. This is one of those spells where you have to be careful what you ask for. It is no good saying that you want someone who is handsome; it could turn out to be a handsome toad!!

This spell needs nothing more than your ability to visualise and concentrate.

Rex calls upon his relatives in spirit to guide him in his spell work whereas I work in the feminine and call upon the Angels, the Goddess and the higher beings. You may call upon whomever you want so long as you feel “loved” by the spirit you are calling to.

Once again go to your 'Sacred Place' and ask your departed relative to bear witness for you. Speak to that departed person as if he or she were standing right with you.

Ask them in your heart for the opportunity to get to know the right person (if seeking a partner) or people if seeking new friends. Take your time and when you are certain that your late relative has heard you, thank him or her in advance. Then say "Blessed Be" and remove yourself from your Circle.

Spell To Reconcile Differences

These can be between yourself and another, or between two other people. If you decide to work this for somebody else, bear in mind that you might be interfering in others' lives so tread carefully!

This is a spell that takes place over several days, but is started in your 'Sacred Space' (Circle). You will need either a picture of the persons or pieces of wood representing each person. Matchsticks with the initials of the persons are fine.

In your Sacred Space (Circle), call your late relative to witness the formal names of both parties. Take the first matchstick and holding it up, say, "I name this (say whatever the name is) by EARTH, AIR, FIRE, and WATER before thee (name your late relative). This is (name the person represented by the match). Blessed Be ."

As you say these words, visualise each Element as you name it, so take your time.

Then repeat the same thing again with the other matchstick, using the other person's name.

Take three pieces of stone or rock and place evenly as obstacles between the two named matchsticks. Leave them where they will be undisturbed for three days and nights. This completes the part that you will work in the Circle.

On each of three successive days, draw the two matchsticks closer together, removing each obstacle as they get closer so that at last they meet and all the 'obstacles' have been removed.

Remove the 'obstacles' and bury them in the ground. Leave the named matchsticks together for a further three nights, and bury them in soft ground far away from the 'obstacles'. This spell is then completed.

Spell for Love

Cast this spell on a Friday as Venus, planet of love and romance, also rules this day.
You will need:
•One piece of Rose Quartz Crystal
•One red rose
•One red Apple
•One green candle
•One pink candle
•One oil burner and rose essential oil

At a quiet time when you will not be disturbed gather all your equipment together, thinking as you are doing this of the love you wish to invite into your life.
Light the oil burner and the two candles. Place the Rose in front of the candles.

Hold the Rose Quartz in your hand and gazing into the candle flame repeat the Angel Invocation below:

"Archangel Anael I invoke thee on this Venus eve,

To grant me my wish,

I ask for love eternal and true,

May the flame of the candle,

The fragrance of the Rose,

Carry it afar,

And grant me my hearts desire,

So Mote It Be "

Thank the Archangel Anael for helping you and leave the candles to burn out.

Eat the Apple and save the seeds.

Place the Rose, the Apple seeds and the Rose Quartz Crystal on a window ledge where they will attract the magic of the moon.

The following morning as soon as you arise, plant the Apple seeds in a pot with suitable growing medium.

Look after your seeds in a caring way and as the seedlings begin to grow love will come into your life.

Keep the rose in a vase and when it wilts dry the petals and keep them in a special place along with your Rose Quartz as a keep sake of your love spell.

Spell to Banish Personal Negativity

We have all from time to time experienced feelings and thoughts that there is a negative force around us. To banish these feelings you will need the bowl of water and the salt. Sprinkle some salt on the altar cloth and, using your finger or your Athame, say, "I bless this salt to make it fit for these my rites. Blessed Be."

Now add a little salt to the water and hold the bowl up towards the sky. Visualise your past relative being present and say "I ask ... (say the relative's name) to let this bowl be the receiver of all my negativity, so that I can cleanse myself and became whole again once more. Blessed Be."

Place the bowl down safely, dip the fingers and thumbs of both hands into the water, and visualise all your negative thoughts and feelings moving through your body, down through your arms and out of your hands into the water. As you do this be aware of yourself becoming lighter, of losing the weight that has been on your mind.

When you are sure that this is completed, remove your hands, shaking the last drops of water from them into the bowl. Take a moment to centre yourself once more, and again, holding the bowl up, say, "I ask ... (say the late relative's name), to take this negativity through their power of the Elements to keep me safe in their hands. Blessed Be."

Now throw away the contaminated water into the earth, but not near any plants that you are trying to grow, or down the drain.

Many of you ask me if spell casting really works or is it hocus-pocus, mumbo-jumbo and superstition, is it something we can have a little dabble into for fun and amusement? Spell casting in ANY form should not be treated lightly.
Can we charm a lover to fall at our feet and adore us? Yes: in the hands of an adept these things can be achieved.

BE WARNED! To use magic to alter a person’s free will is unethical and dangerous.

Let us assume that you want to cast a spell on a guy who perhaps is already in a relationship, or a guy who is friendly with you but not “in love” with you. You (or someone acting on your behalf) casts a spell to bind this guy and yourself together. The guy comes forward, besotted with you. Then maybe five years down the line, he turns out to be an alcoholic, maybe he becomes violent, and you want to leave him. But because of the spell casting you would find it near impossible to find the courage and strength to leave.

This is Karma, cause and effect. A very high price to pay if you ask me! Used unwisely or in the form of DARK magic, spell casting can bring catastrophic consequences to the sender and the receiver.

Before You Begin
Before doing any magical spells there are several things that must be done.
First of all you have to make a 'Sacred Space'. This can be a quiet area in your own room or even a very large tray. But it must be private and only for you.
You will need a white cloth or large velvet one as a base for your altar.
Then you will require two candle holders. The candles themselves can be Blue, Dark Blue, Indigo. or even Purple if you cannot obtain the Blue ones.
Next you need to have a small container of salt, making sure that it is NOT metal. Next you must have a bowl of water; ordinary tap water will do nicely.
Now arrange the Sacred Space or Circle thus. Put one candle at each end of the altar, making sure that it is safe and steady.
Next place the container of salt halfway between the candles, and the bowl of water near to the salt. If you possess a crystal, place this on the altar also as it will enhance the power of the spell.

Four Basic Elements
The FOUR BASIC ELEMENTS are represented thus:-

•Salt = Earth

•The normal air = Air

•Candles = Fire

•The water = Water

There is actually a FIFTH and very often forgotten element. This element is SPIRIT, which is the very SPIRIT of the person casting the spell!

Once you have everything in place, make sure that you feel really comfortable with the 'Sacred Space', for in fact this is actually your work place!
When you are comfortable with everything you MUST 'call' a favourite deceased relative to 'Bless the 'Sacred Space' for you. This only has to be done this once. After this ,your chosen relative will be with you whenever you cast a spell. It is also useful to obtain an Athame (Wand) if possible, otherwise your finger will do.

How to Make the Most of your Reading

It is important that you set aside some quiet time in which to have your reading and before you call you might like to write down any questions that you need answers to.
Getting a good reading involves more than choosing the right reader; you must also be ready to be read!

First, ask yourself why you have decided to have a reading. Do you just want to hear what you want to hear? Are you ready to face the truth? Are you prepared to take the steps that are necessary to enable you to obtain your desired changes? Are you truly ready to be honest with yourself and take responsibility for your life?

Often clients will seek out reader after reader, hoping to find one who will tell them that yes (he/she is your soulmate and you will live happily ever after etc) even though “the one” is married, or “ the one” has just ended their relationship. Listen to what your reader is channelling to you from spirit, you may not accept everything that you are being given but remain open to the possibilities that this information is being given to help you.

On a similar note, holding back information to "test" your reader generally backfires. If you can't take a leap of faith AFTER you've gone through a careful selection process in choosing the reader, it's unlikely you'll be open enough to get much out of the reading. The more open you are, the more detailed and specific the reading will tend to be. This doesn't mean you have to feed the reader all the answers, it just means communicating what your concern is and being open to being read.

With this in mind, approach the reading process with clear goals in terms of what you want to explore, and what you plan to do with the information you receive. Are the questions you are asking really reflective of what you want to know? It helps to write your questions down, and then ask yourself how they fit into the big picture and your larger life goals. It is also wise to ask your most important questions first, so you're sure not to run out of time.

Angel and the Moon, the origins of our company name.

Words of wisdom “as long as the moon lights the night sky it will never really be dark so make a wish and whatever you are afraid of will be gone in the morning light”. I was six years old and terrified of the dark, I must have found comfort in those wise words, as I can’t remember being afraid of the dark thereafter.

These days I see the moon in her feminine form as maiden, mother and crone and yes I still make wishes when she is full.

As an adult my interest in the spiritual side of life increased, I gained diplomas in Tarot, Spell craft and psychic studies with distinction. In 2001 I found myself with too much work and far too many responsibilities, most days I wished I could split myself in two!

The millennium had awakened the need in people to learn more about the psychic world and indeed the increased interest in all things “spiritual” boomed. It was at this time that I found that people were not only looking for spiritual enlightenment but there were a great many more who were looking for help because they felt isolated.

People’s lives had changed, no longer did they have the large families and the close-knit communities of 25 years ago where brothers and sisters, aunts and uncles lived just around the corner within easy reach of each other. In fact the family network of support that we all need at traumatic points in our lives had gone.

Part of the work of a psychic is to fill what I think of as the family gap, people need to know that they can still find help when they need it most. There was a genuine need for confidential readings provided by experienced, naturally gifted clairvoyants, mediums and psychics who would offer that help by actually being able to see the future through the clients eyes and most importantly help that was easily obtainable at a price affordable to all.

With these thoughts in my mind I knew where my spiritual path was leading me. I decided to seek out a “psychic family” of readers who had the same spiritual insight as myself to work with me. That is how our company came into being.

It seemed appropriate when choosing a name for the company to use wishing moon after all wishing on the moon was given to me with love and it felt right to build this company on that foundation stone of love.
